Höfner 500/1-HGL Green Line
This Höfner 500/1-HGL from 2024 is the Beatles-Bass, but not as you know it! It's an attempt to build this iconic bass guitar in a sustainable way. Made by hand in Germany, it showcases traditional violin building methods using local woods, tries to eliminate the use of plastics and features an environmentally friendly wax finish. The body is made from flamed maple, the top is spruce, the neck is a three piece maple-birch-maple build, and the fingerboard is walnut (the same goes for the bridge, pots and pickguard). The result is a beautiful instrument with a rich acoustic tone and lively feel. It's a bit more open and detailed than the standard 500/1 - one of the best incarnations of the beatles-bass ever.
